COVID POLICIES AT THE CONFERENCE

Effective February 16, San Francisco requires masks or face coverings by unvaccinated staff and customers while in any indoors public space, such at the hotel lobby, hallways, and meeting rooms, at all times except when actively eating or drinking. Bay Area health officers continue to strongly recommend masks be used as an effective tool to prevent the spread of the virus especially when case rates are high, or when additional personal protection is needed.

The City of San Francisco requires people to be fully vaccinated in order to attend this event. If you have not sent us your vaccination status via the CLEAR app or directly to us, please do so right away so that your check-in at the conference is not delayed.

*Information on how to verify your vaccination ahead of your conference attendance was emailed to all attendees on 02/04/22. Please see below for a copy of that information.

COVID CANCELLATION POLICIES

If you are unable to attend a conference due to a government restriction that prevents you from attending, you are eligible for a full refund. For example, if you live in Canada and, at the time of the conference, non-essential travel to the United States is banned, you would be eligibile for a full refund.

If you are legally able to attend a conference and decide to cancel due to COVID-19, our normal refund policies with cancellation fees would apply.  However, you can choose to rollover your registration fee to a future Learning & the Brain conference without any penalties.

You can switch between virtual participation or in-person participation at any time.  All participants, regardless of whether they are participating virtually or in-person will have access to the recordings of the conference for up to 1-month after the conference.

If Learning & the Brain is forced to cancel a conference due to COVID-19 legal restrictions, you will also be eligible for a full refund.

*VACCINATION VERIFICATION BEFORE THE CONFERENCE

As the conference organizers, we are required to verify the vaccination status of our attendees in order to operate our event. In order to expedite this process, we have partnered with the CLEAR app.

CLEAR is an app that you can download for free from the Apple or Android app stores.

  • Once you have downloaded the app, you can "Get Started" to create your health pass.
  • It will ask if you have an event code. Our event code is: EFATTENDEE4
  • Follow the prompts to enroll - you will have to upload photos of your drivers license or state ID at this stage. *Please make sure that the spelling of your name and the email address that you use match the information we have on file with your registration. A variation such as Bill vs. William will cause a problem so if you want to confirm what information we have for you, please check your registration records or contact me to inquire. If you already created a CLEAR profile, I can edit your information on our attendee list to match it. Please just contact me.*
  • Agree to the "Know this before you go" statement
  • Add your COVID-19 vaccination details
  • You now have access to your "Attendee Health Pass." You will show this screen upon check-in at the conference on Friday morning in order to pick up your name badge

Your private information is protected by CLEAR. We will simply see that your vaccination status has been verified on our event attendee list.

Note: If you already have the CLEAR pass installed, you will need to click Change below Attendee Health Pass to enter in our event code: EFATTENDEE4. You also must make sure your email and name match that we have in our registration system.

If you are unable to use the CLEAR app, you can scan in your CDC or an equivalent vaccination card and email a PDF to kristin.dunay@learningandthebrain.com. Participants from outside of the US will have to do it this way as CLEAR will not work internationally.

Please note that CLEAR verification is specific to the event. You will be asked to show proof of vaccination in order to go to a restaurant or check into a hotel in San Francisco. A CDC (or equivalent) card or a picture of your card will suffice so please be sure to have that handy with you at all times.
