By Air:
For greatest convenience, we recommend making reservations with Santa Barbara as your final destination. Flights connect from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Denver, and Dallas/Fort Worth. The UCSB campus is only a two-minute drive from the airport. Visit the SB Airport's official website for further information.
Connect to UCSB via the Santa Barbara Airbus motorcoach shuttle (visit their website for schedules and reservations). Get off at the Goleta stop and call your residence hall for a complimentary shuttle to campus (conference attendees only).
Airport/Airbus Shuttles to UCSB:
For conference guests staying in UCSB housing, FREE shuttle service is available on arrival and departure days to and from Santa Barbara Airport and Santa Barbara Airbus Goleta Stop. Just phone the front desk for pickup upon arrival. Front desk phone numbers are listed on the Residence Hall Fact Sheets.
By Train:
Amtrak terminals are located in Santa Barbara (12-15 miles from UCSB) and Goleta (3 miles from UCSB). However, travelers will need to arrange their own taxi or other transportation to UCSB campus; we do NOT provide free shuttle service to or from the train stations.
By Car:
UCSB is easily accessible from highway US-101. (Note when using maps websites, there is no proper street address for UCSB; you can get directions by entering zip code 93106.)
From the South:
Take US-101 northbound to the Airport/UCSB/Hwy 217 exit (approximately 8 miles north of downtown Santa Barbara). This expressway will take you directly into UCSB Henley Gate (East Gate).
From the North: Take US-101 southbound to the Storke/Glen Annie Road exit. Turn right on Storke Road. Proceed 2 miles to El Colegio Road. Turn left on El Colegio Road, proceed about one mile, and enter the UCSB campus West Gate.
Parking on Campus
Visitors must display a parking permit at all times while on campus. Complimentary parking permits will be distributed to conference attendees at residence hall and apartment front desks during registration. Parking permits are only valid in certain lots, so be sure to check the lot number(s) listed on your permit. Temporary loading/unloading permits will be e-mailed in advance of arrival.
Conference attendees who are not staying in UCSB housing facilities will need to purchase a parking permit at individual parking lot kiosks. For more information about parking at UCSB, visit the UCSB Parking Services website.
