Research shows that our brains are as unique as our fingerprints - no two individuals learn or process information in the same way. Given this neurodiversity, it can be a challenge to design instruction to meet the needs of every student. In this session, we will discuss the brain science of neurodiversity, the challenges to designing for remote, hybrid, and/or face-to-face learning experiences, and strategies to differentiate instruction to ensure all students can engage in meaningful, challenging learning opportunities. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) will be shared as a framework that aligns with what we know about the learning brain and that can support educators to design instruction to meet the diverse needs of our students. Through interactive discussions and a range of resources, participants will gain instructional design strategies to meet the full range of learners in our classrooms.
